Are Movies an Accurate Portrayal of the Legal Profession?

Harry Specter, Mike Ross…  For those who have watched Suits, these names will sound familiar.

This enjoyable USA Network fictional hit show that touches on legal issues that may be experienced in law firms is centered around a law firm that employed Mike Ross (a brilliant dropout) with a photographic memory and an extensive knowledge of the law.

One interesting element of “Suit” and other interesting legal drama movies like “Anatomy of Murder” and the 1992 classic comedy “My Cousin Vinny”  is the fact that most of these movies portrayed the importance of adequate preparation, for instance, Mike Ross in the movie “Suit” would always do intense research before going to court.

There is no substitute for in-depth legal research, either while doing background work on a case, or while drafting legal documents and advising clients on complicated issues.

“Cases are won or lost at the preparation stage”

Rather than adopting the old way of going to physical libraries to read through books containing case laws and cross-referencing another, like Mike in the movie “Suits”, you can easily use Prime to research the facts applicable to present your client’s case convincingly and conduct sound legal research.

Are you delivering superior value to your clients? Give yourself the best chance of winning by doing your homework on the case beforehand.
