While addressing the pressmen, the Hon. A.G expressed his delight at being the first State in Nigeria to have all its Laws online. He described the partnership as a significant new frontier and regarded the initiative as a great arsenal in the weaponry of any lawyer in Nigeria. He stated that, with the Laws of Lagos State now being made available in electronic copies and accessible to all, ignorance of the law can longer be feigned.

The MD/CEO of LawPavilion Business solutions, Mr. Ope Olugasa, lauded the Lagos State Government for setting the pace and noted that with this initiative, the administration and speed of justice delivery in Lagos State has received a boost as the Laws of Lagos State has become more accessible. While explaining the implementation of the e-Laws of Lagos State, he pointed out that because the e-Laws feature cases in which they have been tested in court, Law reforms will now be data-driven as they are no longer reformed in vacuum but based on data that is gleaned from which Laws or its sections are most litigious.

Olugasa further noted that the E-law will make it easy for judges and legal practitioners to have access to the complete and updated laws of Lagos State. He stated that those who want access to the laws have the option of either an outright purchase for a token of the entire laws or an annual subscription through the LawPavillion platform.

Olugasa further explained how the e-Laws will be integrated into JustEase platform (a socio-legal app for community security and access to justice) to make the laws of Lagos State available to every interested citizen.

The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Law Reform Commission, Mrs Ninilomo Bashir added that the laws would be translated to Yoruba first and other languages subsequently in a bid to make the laws comprehensible to all.

Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Titilayo Shitta-Bey in her address expressed her thanks to the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the support in bringing the administration of Justice in Lagos State in line with international best practices.
